Sometimes it's hard to enjoy the parties today when I think about how much Mom used to love them. I know it's pointless to wonder about what might have been, but there's so much...what would she think of James's girl, or Maybeth's boyfriends, or my boss's strange behavior? She always had a different perspective to offer, or an opinion...I don't care if she was weak when it came to men, Mom was one of the strongest people I ever knew.

I wish she was still here.
